 Camp Objectives

Utah Valley University Baseball has developed one of the premier baseball camps in the West. The Fall Camp will allow players a chance to work on their skills in game situations and at the same time be instructed by Utah Valley coaches and players. Camp is for players in grades 10-12 and open to any and all entrants.

Game Rosters/Schedules

The camp will consist of teams made up of 13 players per team. Each team will be coached by UVU players and coaches.

Players will participate on either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday nights. Each team will play 8 games (two games per week). Game times will be at 6pm and 8pm each night.

Due to the Orem Owlz schedule, games will start on Monday, Aug. 30 and Tuesday, Aug. 31 and then resume Wednesday, Sept. 8 and Thursday, Sept. 9. The remaining schedule will be determined by the Owlz postseason schedule.

The fall season will begin with a practice session on Wednesday, August 25 (M/W) or Thursday, August 26 (T/TH) from 6:00-8:00 pm (5:30-6:00 pm check-in) held by Wolverine coaches and players.

If you pitch and play a position please sign up where you'd prefer to spend most of your time.

Camp Staff

Camps are under the direction of 2010 Great West Conference Coach of the Year Eric Madsen, Associate Head Coach Dave Carter and Assistant Coach Mike Martin.

Madsen led the Wolverines to a 42-17 record in 2010, winning both the Great West regular season and tournament champions. Utah Valley led the nation with a team average of .372 and ranked at or near the top of of all Division I schools in several other team and individual categories.

During his career, Madsen has coach big leaguers Willie Eyre and former Wolverine Kam Mickolio -- who became Utah Valley's first big-league player in August of 2008 for the Baltimore Orioles.

Carter also coached Eyre and Kansas City Royals pitcher Brandon Duckworth along with former UVU pitcher Justin Smith, who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2009 MLB Draft.
